The gold standard in First Aid Training

This course is suitable for individuals working in workplaces or schools and those interested in acquiring comprehensive first aid knowledge. Comprehensive First Aid incorporates all the content covered in Workplace First Aid, along with an additional half-day of instruction.

Throughout this course, you will benefit from in-depth lessons and scenario-based activities, empowering you with:

1. The confidence to identify and manage a wide range of injuries, from common ones to life-threatening medical emergencies, multiple casualties, and specialized emergency first aid for specific scenes.

2. The skills to provide crucial assistance and administer CPR before professional help arrives.

3. Upon successful completion, you will receive a Comprehensive First Aid certificate which remains valid for 2 years.

Course Content

You will learn to recognize and provide basic life support, including:

1. Hazard & scene management

2. Patient positioning and assessment

3. CPR for adults, children, and infants

4. Defibrillator (AED)

5. Choking procedures for adults, children, and infants

You will learn how to recognize and provide first aid for the following situations:

1. Allergic reactions (anaphylaxis)

2. Asthma

3. Bleeding and shock

4. Burns

5. Diabetes

6. Fractures and dislocations

7. Heart attacks and chest pain

8. Poisoning

9. Seizures

10. Soft tissue injuries

11. Strokes

Additionally, you will learn how to recognize and manage serious emergencies, including:

1. Head injuries

2. Heat and cold emergencies

3. Major wounds

4. Major Burns

5. Multiple casualty management

6. Severe allergic reactions

7. Suspected spinal injuries

Prerequisites and Requirements

To participate in the course, attendees must meet the following criteria:

1. Age requirement: Attendees must be 14 years or older.

2. Physical capability: Participants should be able to kneel on the floor to perform CPR and complete assessments in English.
